Our story

Built because the structure didn't exist.

Rhome was founded in Miami after two of its co-founders tried to co-buy a property and discovered there was no tool to handle the split, the schedule, or the exit. They wrote the agreement themselves on a Saturday afternoon and thought: someone should build this properly.

How Rhome started

Two people, one Saturday, no good tools.

In 2023, two people who had been friends for years decided to buy a two-bedroom condo in Coconut Grove together. They had talked through the logistics over dinner a dozen times. What they had not done was write any of it down.

The realtor they worked with said this was normal. The loan officer said his job ended at the mortgage. An attorney quoted a flat fee for a co-ownership agreement but needed the group to arrive with the actual numbers: who owed what percentage, how the monthly payment split, what would happen if one of them wanted out in three years.

They spent most of that Saturday building a spreadsheet and drafting language from scratch. It worked, but it should not have taken that long, and the result was not something most groups would know how to replicate.

Rhome was started to make that Saturday afternoon unnecessary. The matching, the equity math, and the exit terms belong in a single tool, built for groups of ordinary buyers, not for attorneys or developers.

We are angel-backed and based at 701 Brickell Avenue in Miami. Our matching pool is focused on the Miami metropolitan area. The structuring tools work for any U.S. market.

What we believe

Principles behind Rhome

Structure is not pessimism. Writing down who owns what, and what happens when one person wants out, is the clearest sign of respect for the people you are buying with.

Most co-buying friction is predictable. The disputes that surface two years after closing were almost always visible on the day of signing. A tool that surfaces them earlier is not a liability; it is the product.

Rhome is not a lender or a broker. We do not touch the mortgage, the transaction, or the legal review. Our job is the structure that makes all of those conversations simpler.
